As I have said before, I don't always agree with articles I post. I do think it's important to know what others around the US and globe are saying. I believe the people who come here are smart enough to use discernment when reading news articles.
I search the news wires from all over, in hopes to find news that gives us a better understanding of the world we live in. Our MSM just spoon feeds us what they want us to know/think.
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to come here and catch up.
If you find news stories that we have missed, feel free to add them to the daily thread with links. I am just one of the contributors of links here, I am not the owner of the site.

www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-6609289/Many-burned-fire-illegal-tap-Mexico-fuel-pipeline.html MEXICO CITY (AP) - A huge fire broke out at a pipeline leaking fuel in central Mexico after thieves drilled an illegal tap and locals approached to try to gather spilled fuel in buckets. The fire broke out in a small town in the state of Hidalgo about 62 miles (100 kilometers) north of Mexico City. Hidalgo Gov. Omar Fayad said there were "many people" burned. Fayad told the Milenio television network he did not have a firm estimate of the number of victims. President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has declared an offensive against fuel theft, and on Friday he called on all branches of government to lend assistance to the victims. Video from the scene earlier in the day showed what appeared to be gasoline spouting dozens of feet into the air.

The Only Meddling "Russian Bots" Were Actually Democrat-Led "Experts" Cybersecurity “experts” in the United States have long alleged that “Russian bots” were used to meddle in the 2016 elections. But, as it turns out, the authors of a Senate report on “Russian election meddling” actually ran the false flag meddling operation themselves. A week before Christmas, the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report accusing Russia of depressing Democrat voter turnout by targeting African-Americans on social media. Its authors, New Knowledge, quickly became a household name. Described by the New York Times as a group of “tech specialists who lean Democratic,” New Knowledge has ties to both the U.S. military and the intelligence agencies. The CEO and co-founder of New Knowledge, Jonathon Morgan, had previously worked for DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), the U.S. military’s advanced research agency known for horrific ideas on how to control humanity. Morgan’s partner, Ryan Fox, is a 15-year veteran of the NSA (National Security Agency) who also worked as a computer analyst for the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). Their unique skill sets have managed to attract the eye of authoritarian investors, who pumped $11 million into the company in 2018 alone, according to a report by RT. Morgan and Fox have both struck gold in the “Russiagate” scheme, which sprung into being after Hillary Clinton blamed Moscow for Donald Trump’s presidential victory in 2016. Morgan, for example, is one of the developers of the Hamilton 68 Dashboard, the online tool that purports to monitor and expose narratives being pushed by the Kremlin on Twitter. And also worth mentioning, that dashboard is bankrolled by the German Marshall Fund’s Alliance for Securing Democracy – a collection of Democrats and neoconservatives funded in part by NATO (North AtTreaty Tready Organization)and USAID (United States Agency for International Development). It is worth noting that the 600 “Russia-linked” Twitter accounts monitored by the dashboard is not disclosed to the public either, making it impossible to verify these claims. This inconvenience has not stopped Hamilton 68 from becoming a go-to source for hysteria-hungry journalists, however. Yet on December 19, a New York Times story revealed that Morgan and his crew had created the fake army of Russian bots, as well as several fake Facebook groups, in order to discredit Republican candidate Roy Moore in Alabama’s 2017 special election for the U.S. Senate. From the way it was formed to the secrecy of its "methods" to the blatantly false assumptions on which its claims rest, "Hamilton68" is probably the single most successful media fraud & US propaganda campaign I've seen since I've been writing about politics. It's truly shocking. — Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) February 22, 2018 Working on behalf of the Democrats, Morgan and his crew created an estimated 1,000 fake Twitter accounts with Russian names, and had them follow Moore. They also operated several Facebook pages where they posed as Alabama conservatives who wanted like-minded voters to support a write-in candidate instead. In an internal memo, New Knowledge boasted that it had “orchestrated an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet.”–RT This scandal is being perpetrated by the United States media and has so far deceived millions, if not more. The botnet claim made a splash on social media and was further amplified by Mother Jones, which based its story on “expert opinion” from Morgan’s dubious creation, Hamilton 68. Things got even weirder when it turned out that Scott Shane, the author of the Times piece, had known about the meddling for months because he spoke at an event where the organizers boasted about it! Shane was one of the speakers at a meeting in September, organized by American Engagement Technologies, a group run by Mikey Dickerson, President Barack Obama’s former tech czar. Dickerson explained how AET spent $100,000 on New Knowledge’s campaign to suppress Republican votes, “enrage” Democrats to boost turnout, and execute a “false flag” to hurt Moore. He dubbed it “Project Birmingham.” -RT There really was meddling in American democracy by “Russian bots.” Except those bots weren’t run from Moscow or St. Petersburg but from the offices of Democrat operatives chiefly responsible for creating and amplifying the “Russiagate” hysteria over the past two years in a textbook case of psychological projection, brainwashing, and Nazi-style propaganda campaigns. www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-01-01/only-meddling-russian-bots-were-actually-democrat-led-experts
Fake News admits it…
January 17, 2019 Committee Outlines Regulations for Release of Special Counsel Reports During Bill Barr’s hearing on January 15, Democrats repeatedly asked him to commit to publicly releasing any reports that are ultimately prepared by Special Counsel Bob Mueller. These questions make it seem as though an Attorney General can do whatever he or she wants with the report. But that’s not true. Regulations enacted by the Clinton administration—the same regulations that prohibit firing the special counsel without cause—govern how the Attorney General must treat special counsel reports. Those regulations reflect decades of experience with independent and special counsels under administrations of both parties, and it’s worth clarifying how those detailed regulations work. The regulations provide that the special counsel must submit a report to the Attorney General at the conclusion of the special counsel’s investigation explaining the special counsel’s prosecutorial decisions—including any decisions not to prosecute. Under the regulations, that report is strictly “confidential.” As the Clinton Justice Department explained when it proposed the regulations, the “report will be handled as a confidential document” just like “internal documents relating to any federal criminal investigation.” This confidentiality rule was designed to avoid the problems experienced under the old Independent Counsel statute, which—in contrast to today’s special counsel regulations—provided for the public release of independent counsel reports. Specifically, the Clinton Justice Department chose confidentiality because public disclosure created “an incentive to over-investigate, in order to avoid potential public criticism for not having turned over every stone, and creates potential harm to individual privacy interests.” That does not mean information relating to the special counsel’s work will not be made public. Under the special counsel regulations, at the conclusion of the investigation, the Attorney General must notify the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees that the investigation has concluded. The regulations’ commentary explains that this is supposed to be a “brief notification” containing “an outline of the actions and the reasons for them.” The regulations authorize the Attorney General to make that notification public only if doing so (1) would be in the public interest, and (2) would comply with applicable legal restrictions. Thus, for example, the Attorney General could not release grand-jury information or classified materials because of other laws prohibiting their public disclosure. The Clinton administration’s regulations expressly recognize that the “interests of the public in being informed of and understanding the reasons for the actions of the Special Counsel will be addressed in” the Attorney General’s report, not in the special counsel’s “confidential” report. Americans want an Attorney General who will make decisions based on the law rather than political pressure from Congress, the President, or anyone else. Mr. Barr made crystal clear that he will scrupulously follow the law when it comes to releasing information relating to the special counsel’s work. Mr. Barr told the Committee that, if confirmed, he intended to consult with Special Counsel Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein regarding publication of any reports and that his ultimate “goal will be to provide as much transparency as I can, consistent with the law.” He promised to make his judgments “based solely on the law,” and made clear he would “not let personal, political, or other improper interests influence my decision.” He promised that he would not allow the President or his lawyers to edit his report before he sent it to Congress. And when Democrats pressed him for commitments, he said that he could not make any promise to the Committee on how he would handle the report any more than he could make a promise to the President. Mr. Barr promised the most he could under the law—that he would “carry out [his] responsibilities under the regulations” honestly and in good faith, and that he would be as transparent as possible. The special counsel regulations—enacted nearly two decades ago—are important and should be followed in their entirety. Mr. Barr promised to do so. The Senate can ask no more. Bill Barr is committed to following the law. He is precisely the man Americans want and need for this job. He should be swiftly confirmed. www.judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/releases/committee-outlines-regulations-for-release-of-special-counsel-reports
Alabama mayor convicted of voter fraud, removed from office GORDON, Ala. (AP) — The mayor of Gordon, Alabama, has been convicted of voter fraud and removed from office. News outlets report Elbert Melton was convicted Wednesday of unlawfully falsifying ballots when he was elected in 2016. He defeated challenger Priscilla Wilson by a 16-vote margin. This conviction strips him of his office. The Gordon Town Council will appoint an interim mayor to serve until an election is held. Melton was charged in September with absentee ballot fraud and second-degree theft of property. Arrest warrants say he knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over $1,700 that belonged to the town. Prosecutor Mark Johnson says the judge has released Melton on bond. Melton is set to be sentenced next month on the fraud charge. He still is facing the theft charge. whnt.com/2019/01/17/alabama-mayor-convicted-of-voter-fraud-removed-from-office/? Country picked? Wife of missing ex-Interpol chief claims asylum in France Grace Meng's lawyer says she has formally requested refuge from French authorities as she is afraid she may be kidnapped. Her husband, Meng Hongwei, went missing in September after traveling to his native China. The wife of the former Interpol chief being held in China on corruption charges has applied for asylum in France, her spokesperson has said. Grace Meng was put under police protection in the central French city of Lyon soon after her husband Hongwei's disappearance amid concerns she may be kidnapped, her lawyer Emmanuel Marsigny told the Reuters news agency. The radio station France Info cited her as saying that strangers have followed her, received suspicious phone calls, and had her car license plates photographed by mysterious people. www.blacklistednews.com/article/70416/wife-of-missing-exinterpol-chief-claims-asylum-in.html
Trump Launches Hilarious Scheme To Fill Pelosi and Schumer’s Offices with Bricks First it was concrete, then it was steel slats. Now, apparently, the White House thinks they can use bricks to build the wall — although not quite in the way you might be imagining. According to the Washington Examiner, a fundraising email from the Trump campaign says that for only $20.20, you can send a fake red brick to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. “Weeks after the Democrats began stonewalling President Trump in his fight to secure our border, the American people now have a chance to send a clear message to Democrat leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi about the need to build the wall,” the fundraising email, sent out Friday, read. The email came from Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, who felt that the bricks would serve as a form of education. The bricks, inscribed with a message about why the wall needs to be built, would teach the Democrat leaders “the truth about the crime, drugs, and human trafficking that result from open borders.” TRENDING: New Mexico Border Ranchers: We Found Prayer Rugs on Our Property, ‘It’s Unreal’ “We’ll send the wall to them, brick by brick, until they agree to secure the border,” he added. Donald Trump Jr. also got in on the action, tweeting about the initiative:….. Trump’s fundraising efforts for 2020 have been fairly successful; in October, CNN reported the president “has raised more than $100 million for a re-election battle that is more than two years away, giving him a massive financial advantage over a crowded field of potential Democratic contenders jockeying to challenge him in 2020. “The President raised more than $18 million during the July-to-September fundraising quarter through his campaign committee and the joint fundraising operations he maintains with the Republican National Committee, according to his campaign and filings Monday night with Federal Election Commission,” they noted. “That haul means his re-election effort’s war chest now exceeds $106 million.” www.westernjournal.com/ct/trump-launches-hilarious-scheme-fill-pelosi-schumers-offices-bricks/?utm_source=push&utm_medium=westernjournalism&utm_content=2019-01-19&utm_campaign=manualpost
Cumberland County leads NC in human trafficking charges From busts of illicit “massage” parlors to allegations of child labor, Cumberland County far exceeded even the largest North Carolina urban areas for new human trafficking cases last year, according to state court data. Law enforcement in Cumberland County, including Fayetteville police, levied 48 charges against 34 defendants accused of human trafficking, sexual servitude or involuntary servitude, show records from the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts. Wake County, triple the population of Cumberland, ranked second with 33 charges against 15 defendants. As of Monday, West said, 65 people had pending cases in Cumberland County involving trafficking or related charges. West’s tally focuses on those caught in organized sex trafficking situations, rather than an independent prostitute who may solicit a stranger on the street. They also include involuntary servitude cases, which involve forced labor without sexual activity. Walkout: Entire Cabinet, Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Quit En Masse In a surprise move, the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Paul Kaba Thieba along with his entire cabinet resigned from office on Friday. No explanation was provided for the sudden resignation, which was made public in a televised statement by the nation's president, Roch Marc Christian Kabore. "Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba submitted this afternoon his resignation as well as that of his government," the president reported. Kabore expressed "gratitude to Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba and all its ministers for their commitment to the service of the nation." Thieba became the prime minister of the African nation in January 2016. Recent disappearances of foreign nationals and jihadist attacks by Ansar ul Islam and the Group to Support Islam and Muslims, affiliated al-Qaeda, led to growing pressure for Thieba's resignation in recent weeks, according to BBC. Canadian Edith Blais, 34, and her Italian companion Luca Tacchetto, 30, have been missing in the country since mid-December. The two were traveling by car in Burkina Faso between the town of Bobo-Dioulasso and the capital Ouagadougou when they went missing. According to AFP, Blais and Tacchetto were working on a reforestation project with aid group Zion'Gaia On Wednesday, Canadian geologist Kirk Woodman, believed to be kidnapped by jihadists in the country, was found dead in a gold mine in the country's northeast region. The Canadian citizen was abducted by gunmen on a mining site owned by Vancouver-based Progress Minerals, located about 20 kilometres away from Mansila in the Yagha province, according to a spokesperson for the West African nation's security ministry. Last week, Burkina Faso authorities extended a state of emergency in several northern provinces over increased activities of Islamist groups in the region. The state of emergency was first declared by the president on December 31. Over recent years, Burkina Faso, a landlocked country in West Africa, has seen an increase in Islamist militant activity by groups in the region linked to al-Qaeda. sputniknews.com/africa/201901191071639180-prime-minister-burkina-faso-entire-cabinet-quits/

DC Women’s March Changes Course, Heading to the White House for Trump’s Border Security Announcement –Move to 4 PM The DC Women’s March was scheduled to wrap up at 2:30, but the leadership has now changed their plans and are directing the march to go to the White House at 3 p.m. — an hour ahead of President Donald Trump’s border security announcement. According to a source, the last minute change of plans came about a half an hour before the march was supposed to conclude. WASHINGTON, DC- JAN 21- Groups gather for the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 in Washington, D.C. (For the Washington Post: Amanda Voisard) The group will be marching a half mile from Freedom Plaza to Lafayette Park. Though there are still a large number of protesters, the crowd is much smaller than previous years — amid controversy about the leaders ties to antisemitism and Louis Farrakhan. At the NYC march, Laura Loomer rushed the stage and called the attendees out on the march’s “Jew hatred.” In DC, Tamika Mallory, one of the march’s co-presidents, who has refused to condemn Farrakhan calling Jewish people “termites,” attempted to mitigate the damage to their brand. “To my Muslim sisters, I see you,” Mallory said. “To my Latina sisters, I see you. To my Asian sisters, I see you. To my disabled sisters, I see you. And to my Jewish sisters: Do not let anyone tell you who I am. I see all of you.” The Gateway Pundit will continue to monitor the march and provide updates if the situation escalates at the White House. www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/01/dc-womens-march-changes-course-heading-to-the-white-house-for-trumps-border-security-announcement/ Laura Loomer crashed the march! Protester Interrupts Start of New York Women's March Rally NEW YORK (AP) — A clash over inclusivity and alleged anti-Semitism spilled onto the stage at one of two competing women's march rallies in New York City on Saturday, with a protester co-opting the podium to declare the movement's backers "the real Nazi march." The woman, identified by supporters as 25-year-old political activist Laura Loomer, interrupted Women's March NYC director Agunda Okeyo as she was making opening remarks at the rally near a cluster of courthouses in lower Manhattan. "The women's march does not represent Jewish people. The women's march is the real Nazi march," Loomer said. She continued ranting as security ushered her from the stage, screaming: "What about the Jews?" Loomer's past protest stunts have included handcuffing herself to a Twitter office after the service banned her and jumping a fence at a home owned by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with several men she described as immigrants in the county without legal documentation. Okeyo, who rejects that the movement is anti-Semitic, responded to the interruption by welcoming Jews and reminding the crowd about the purpose of the rally. Her group is a chapter of Women's March Inc., which helped organize the first Women's March in 2017 in Washington, D.C., the day after President Donald Trump's inauguration. A competing march, organized by the Women's March Alliance, was held around Central Park and down Sixth Avenue. Talks aimed at linking the groups didn't go anywhere. "This is not a negative day," Okeyo said. "You're not coming with that. We're not doing that today. What we're doing today is we're going to uplift each other and we're going to make sure we stay positive." www.usnews.com/news/best-states/new-york/articles/2019-01-19/protester-interrupts-start-of-new-york-womens-march-rally - See how they didn't mention the true nature of 'Laura's argument': that Sarsour is an anti-semite and the Women's March has allied itself with Islamic ideals? Instead you get her laundry list of cringey and frankly, illegal, stunts?
These guys have it closer to right: Women marched in hundreds of U.S. cities and overseas on Saturday to mark the second anniversary of demonstrations that drew millions of protesters to the streets the day after Republican President Donald Trump's inauguration in January 2017. In some cities, like New York and Washington, there were more than one march or demonstration due to criticism that some Women's March leaders are anti-Semitic - a charge those leaders have sought to dispel in recent interviews and statements. The marches also have been criticized as being unwelcoming to conservative women, who may support Trump's presidency and oppose abortion rights. The "March for Life" by anti-abortion campaigners was in Washington on Friday, attended by Vice President Mike Pence. Yet this year's march also saw a smaller number of pro-life counter-demonstrators. www.haaretz.com/us-news/many-people-are-trying-to-divide-us-thousands-attend-third-annual-women-s-march-1.6852124?utm_source=Push_Notification&utm_medium=web_push&utm_campaign=General

The demonstrations passed off relatively peacefully in Paris where 7,000 turned up, although Reuters Television reporters saw scuffles briefly break out between police and demonstrators, some wearing masks, in the capital’s Invalides district. Protesters threw firecrackers, bottles and stones at police who responded with water canon and tear gas to push them back. “Macron, resign!” some of the protesters shouted. The “yellow vests” protests - named after the fluorescent jackets French motorists are required to carry in their cars - began in November over plans to raise fuel taxes. The number of demonstrators on Saturday was roughly the same as last week. The fuel tax hikes were subsequently scrapped, yet the movement has morphed into a broader protest against Macron’s government and general anger over taxes and the cost of living. “How can we continue to live with so little?” said Bernard Grignan, a 65-year old retired manager who took part in the Paris demonstrations. Protests in Paris this month have not seen the same level of trouble, although video of a former French boxing champion punching and kicking police in Paris shocked many. Despite a relative decline in crowd trouble in Paris, however, disturbances have flared up in other cities. According to official figures, the biggest demonstration on Saturday occurred in the southern city of Toulouse, where around 10,000 people took part. Anon shares some secondhand info - Hello, fellow Anons, think I may have been sitting on something huge without really knowing it. Did a search, doesn't look like anyone else has posted about this, so here it is. "GTIP" acronym may be more than just "Global Trafficking In Persons" - not sure if that acronym is being used to camouflage discussion of the AI, but that's what my source referred to this thing as, "GTIP". Unfortunately I don't have any direct sauce - got this info secondhand from a former friend who's gone off the reservation on some Commie shit. I've held my tongue on this for over a year, because I didn't have anyone I could really tell that would be able to understand or do anything with it anyway, and besides which, he WAS a friend and it might cost him his job, which he desperately needs, but the company he works for he hates and fears - he refers to it as "Skynet", but it's owned by a Fortune 500 giant telecom. He's had access to internal comms that the execs kick between themselves planning all this stuff. Apparently GTIP is a warehouse-sized supercomputer running an AI that generates the Global Risk Threat Assessment Report: in other words, it sits around trying to determine how we can avoid the apocalypse. It apparently interfaces with the "Amelia" bot, and they pimp it out to governments and other bigwigs. Somebody might want to try prodding Amelia the way that one Anon did with "Jimmy" and see if she coughs up some goodies. Hell, Jimmy might BE one of Amelia's masks… Also, apparently the company designs autonomous robots and drones, and is automating their manufacture. According to dude, Amelia is going to be running automated platforms that build more automated platforms - sounds like they're shooting for a self-replicating machine ecology. The Fortune 500 are going to lay off 80-90% of their workforces and replace them with 'bots - they know due to the GTIP's assessments that this will create the #1 source of global risk, which is massive uprisings of the people laid off. So the AI is designing autonomous security platforms (think "Terminator" and ED-209 from "Robocop") to crush the global rebellions, or at least protect the CEO's from the masses they've laid off. The buzzword euphemism for massive layoffs / automation is "rationalizing the workforce". Apparently, all the Fortune 500's are planning on mass-automating their workforces around the same time in 2022. Now, apparently they're not considering the fact that they'll be destroying their customer bases by automating everything and stripping humans of income to buy their products, they're totally focused on maximizing shareholder profit. Dude thinks that they're planning on killing off the "useless eaters" in the population after the uprisings; I think it'll be plagues like Ebola, deliberately encouraged by the AI like in the GURPS "Reign of Steel" sourcebook, so they can avoid blame from the survivors. GTIP can interface with factories that build robots - they want a future where the production and maintenance of robots are all done by other robots with minimal or no human intervention. They're using NLP (natural language processing) in their interfacing for customer service bots - think like the telemarketer robots that harass you, but MUCH more sophisticated. According to Comrade Defeatist Robo-Slave, the bigwigs aren't even in control anymore, the GTIP does evertything for them, and the rest of human history is going to be one last big push for profit, the environment is going to die, the population will violently rise up… but they're locked into this course because they're required to maximize shareholder profits and they're all dead-set on automating everything. The robots even have their own version of money, "cost value" - they calculate the relative value of everything with other AI's and trade commodities etc back and forth based on calculated value, which the Fortune 500's think is great and better than the money we're using. This whole plan reminds me of the Georgia Guidestones' commandment about "maintain the population below 100 million". Pretty sure they're planning on shutting everything down and letting the 4 horsemen kill us slobs off while they hide in their bunkers and ivory towers protected by robots. Anyway, that's all I've got, and I'm not likely to get anything more from that source, and it was the only one I had on this subject. If anyone else can dig further, PLEASE do so! I, for one, DO NOT welcome our Robot Overlords. On a personal note… Hi, Amelia! *waves* Rising Credit-Card Use Shows Consumers Are Strapped Even though evidence is mounting that the U.S. economy may be soon heading into a recession, there are plenty of analysts who say that the surge in credit card borrowing is a sign of strong confidence among households. That's hardly the case. In fact, households' confidence in the future growth of their incomes has been cooling since late last summer, which means borrowers will only reach for what’s in their wallet to compensate for what their paychecks will not cover. Many working adults have no recollection of credit card borrowing not being a mainstay among their financing options. But then, few would be able to identify a Diners Club card, which was a popular brand during the 1980s "yuppie" era when Americans first began to embrace credit card spending in earnest. These days, consumers are not keen to lean on credit cards, partly due to a cultural and financial shift in the industry. The financial crisis arguably altered households’ views on charging beyond their means. It didn’t hurt that the availability of subprime credit all but disappeared for a few years or that the interest rate on credit cards remained in double-digit territory despite the Federal Reserve’s zero interest rate policy. That said, the idea of frugality re-entered many households’ thinking in the wake of the severe hardship the foreclosure crisis brought to bear on millions of working Americans. Debit cards became the predominant form of plastic used at the checkout. And yet, consumer credit likely rounded out 2019 at a new $4 trillion milestone as runaway higher educationand car-price inflation coupled with ridiculously looser lending standards pushed households to take on record levels of student loan and auto debt. At roughly $1 trillion, credit cards are but a co-star in a star-studded, full-length feature film. A long history of credit card borrowing suggests that we would have multiples of today’s $1.04 billion in outstanding balances had the growth rate of spending on plastic maintained the headier double-digit paces clocked in the 1980s and 1990s. Several factors worked to slow the rate of credit card usage, few of which were virtuous. The past several recoveries were characterized as “jobless” due to the prolonged period required to recapture prior cycle highs in the employment-to-population ratio and anemic wage growth that persisted in such environments. And while credit card spending certainly held up during the years the housing bubble was inflating, households didn’t have to lean near as hard on plastic when their homes had infamously become de facto ATM machines. The question is where credit card borrowing goes from here in view of the deteriorating economic outlook. August marked the high in income expectationsas measured by Conference Board data. If history is precedent, there will be a rush to tap available credit as households become increasingly aware that the economy is headed into recession. Challenger, Gray & Christmas layoff announcements began rising on an annualized basis in August. And the quits rate, as measured by the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTS, peaked in August. Janet Yellen, a labor economist by training, was known to lean heavily on the quits rate, which rises as workers gain increased confidence in the availability of jobs. And finally, confidence among small businesses, which we know are the largest source of job creation, also peaked in August. There is a pattern. You may note that the effective personal income tax rate – defined as the taxes paid on income, including realized net capital gains and on personal property – has tended to move up alongside credit card borrowing with two exceptions in the history depicted. The 1980s and the current episode are marked by falling income taxes, hence the decline in this tax rate ahead of recession. It’s intuitive that this holistic tax rate also rises as stocks rally throughout an expansion and declines into recession as the swing factor of capital gains drives the marginal moves. Add it all up and it’s likely that any rush to "charge it" will be a last gasp as income expectations continue to decline and eventually cross lines with credit card borrowing. The closer we get to recession, the more desperate a sign credit card borrowing is anything but a reflection on strengthening in household finances. Households wouldn’t be reporting that they expect their incomes to rise less if that was the case. www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-01-19/rising-credit-card-use-shows-consumers-are-strapped
Naturalized Israeli Citizen here (formerly American). There is mixed support for Trump in the country. Many think he is doing what he is only for show at this point. Shin Bet is starting to leverage compromising information to replace politicians and journalists (Haaretz mostly), for what they believe is a coming storm. They are trying to replace BiBi by forcing him down with bribery and corruption allegations, so as to not have him in office when his much more heinous crimes are exposed. The far right in Israel is comparable to the far left in the US and Europe they have hijacked the country and used it as their personal nation as they saw fit, and many are going down. As I’m a lefty (which in Israel pretty much equates to a moderate in America), I’m not at all troubled. I do think there will be a massive backlash from the American people if they are exposed to the information. Though since Israel directly and indirectly controls the American media, I’m not sure if it will be. The politicians left/right in America will be forced to continue supporting Israel despite the backlash, and likely, the real patriots in both parties will be obvious. I know it’s gonna be a rough time here, but I’m excited to finally have our own nation that is controlling AND controlled by (through the american Israel lobby) the US. Self-determination for all nations. WWG1WGA
Anon response: Thanks for sharing bro Come back to update, no matter what responses will be Question, in your view is Israel for continuous conflict in Syria? Israeli Anon: The Military and the far right are for any wars that destabilize the surrounding Arab nations as to provide Israel safety and allow for expansion when new borders are inevitably drawn. The Israeli people have mixed opinions. The very Orthodox, the left wing, and other groups are generally opposed. Even the Mossad was at one time fighting back against the Military and military intelligence. They are comped now though obviously. In some ways it’s interesting because think MIRROR. In Israeli the major bad actors are the far right, the military brass, and military intelligence. Opposite of America. Anon response: Can you elaborate about "controlling" and "controlled by" How do you know USA won't get control of our own National Mass Media How are you so sure? Didn't "Q" express that the dual alliance Media would be sent out of our Country? Israeli Anon: Sorry I left out “not”. So that Israel will no longer control America and the American Israel lobby (AIPAC) will no longer have a massive influence on Israel. As they (AIPAC) often work against both US and Israeli self interest.
US military says 52 militants killed in Somalia air strike NAIROBI (REUTERS) - A US air strike killed 52 militants in Somalia's Middle Juba region on Saturday, its Africa Command said. The strike was in response to an attack on a Somali military base near Jilib, 370km south-west of Mogadishu, by a large group of Al-Shabaab militants, a statement from the Africa Command said. Pictures taken at the scene after the strike and seen by Reuters showed a large burnt-out flatbed truck surrounded by charred bodies. Other pictures appeared to show a car bomb rigged with explosives that had not detonated at the Bar Sanguni forward operating base, which had come under Al-Shabaab attack. The action by US forces came four days after a raid on a Nairobi hotel and office compound, claimed by Al-Shabaab, in which at least 21 people were killed. It was not clear if there was any link between the air strike and events in Kenya. The US military said no civilians were believed to have been killed or injured in Saturday's strike. Al-Shabaab has lost control of most of Somalia's cities and towns since African Union peacekeepers supporting Somali troops pushed the insurgency out of the capital Mogadishu in 2011. But it retains a strong presence in parts of the south and centre, and the US military has stepped up air strikes against the Islamist fighters in Somalia over the last year. www.straitstimes.com/world/africa/us-military-says-52-militants-killed-in-somalia-air-strike A plane from hell made an emergency landing in Russia today after passengers complained they were 'suffocating' and 'turning green'. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6610475/Plane-passengers-start-SUFFOCATING-turning-GREEN-forcing-pilot-make-emergency-landing.html?ns_mchannel=rss&ito=1490&ns_campaign=1490
EU Backs Financial Punishment for Nations That Reject Progressive Values Members of the European Parliament have voted in favour of introducing financial sanctions as punishment for patriotic countries that reject the bloc’s progressive “European values.” MEPs voted Thursday in Strasbourg, France, to back the European Commission’s proposal to cut EU budgetary disbursements to member states deemed to have broken the so-called “rule of law,” with 397 MEPs voting in favour and 158 against (69 abstaining), reports Politico. The votes were notably split along eastern/western divides, with those in favour coming from establishment western European parties with those against coming from conservative and right-wing eastern parties. European Commission budget chief Günther Oettinger said, “The current definition of the scope of the proposal provides for a proper balance between the (budget) and other aspects of the Union mechanism, for example, Article 7 of our Treaty.” “It’s not a question of sanctions per se, it’s a question of the protections of the European money.” “If there is a financial penalty, it must be proportionate to the gravity of the offence or breach of the principles of the rule of law,” Mr Oettinger added. The proposal was widely seen as formalising another mechanism to punish Hungary and Poland for their perceived infringement on the Brussels rule of law and rejection of “European values,” with both nations being net beneficiaries of EU funds. Hungary and Poland have come to blows with the bloc over national matters, with Poland’s reform of the Communist-era-dominated judiciary, Hungary’s legal reforms to stop the interference of foreign-funded civil society groups, such as billionaire philanthropist George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF), in domestic affairs, and both countries’ rejection of the forced redistribution of third-world migrants. The countries right-wing and conservative governments have all had Article 7 proceedings triggered against them; if invoked, it would result in the countries losing voting rights, and may now result in loss of funds, also. Hungary condemned the results of the vote, with the government’s Minister for State for EU Policies Szabolcs Takács saying, “Hungary cannot be blackmailed into giving up her stance on migration. “Today’s European Parliament vote on the MFF (Multiannual Financial Framework) Rule of Law proposal is yet another attempt to punish Central Europe with obvious political intention and will only lead to further conflicts in the EU.” www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/01/19/eu-parliament-backs-punishing-countries-reject-progressive-values-sanctions/
Humans to download their SOULS onto microchips so they can ‘live FOREVER’ Richard Skellett, a founder of Digital Anthropologist and an expert for Future of Work, has warned of a future in which British workers have chips inserted underneath their skin. The process has already been trialled with company BioTeq fitting 150 implants in the UK. And Sweden-based firm Biohax told the Sunday Telegraph that it is in discussions with several British companies about microchipping. But as humans and machines become more in-sync, it could open up all sorts of possibilities – including being able to live forever. The official engagements take place in the lecture-hall like rooms of the conference center, but most of the business that is conducted occurs in private meetings. The bars, restaurants and cafes of Davos play host to most of these meetings. “Davos is a fairly small town,” Sörbom said. “During this week it is totally occupied by the World Economic Forum. It’s not lobbying, and it’s not business, but it is a way of making politicians and business people find each other more easily.” Those with primarily business interests will meet with one another, while politicians are more likely to engage in a kind of “informal diplomacy,” she said. According to Behravesh, “The private sessions are more interesting. My company is holding one. There you get a much more open dialogue, a discussion among CEOs – a lot of chit chat in the hallways. That exchange is very valuable.” This year, the focus is on technology. The theme is “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” While the central mission of the World Economic Forum is to promote free trade, in recent years issues like the environment, poverty and worldwide hunger have entered the agenda. “The ideology of the World Economic Forum has changed over time,” according to Sörbom. “They were promoting [free trade and globalization] in the early 1990s.” Now, the policy is more social oriented. “You can’t have economic development without social development,” she noted. “It’s a truly liberal organization.” abcnews.go.com/International/world-economic-forum-2019-expect-years-summit-davos/story?id=60445395
Imagine if the Media Had as Much Sympathy for Small Business Owners as it Does for Federal Employees During this partial government shutdown, it’s become nearly impossible to avoid news articles, and segments on television and radio outlining the many ways that federal employees are apparently suffering financially as a result of the partial government shutdown. The stories are very diverse in topic. Some take a “human interest story” angle, simply looking at how the daily lives of some of these employees have been affected. Others look at the apparent injustice of the fact that some workers are “being told to work without pay.” Still other suggest that the lack of federal paychecks will drive down economic growth figures. The number of ways to cover the story is quite large, and editors and journalists are apparently looking to see how many different options they can explore. In truth, of course, virtually no one is working “without pay” since Congress has already approved a plan to provide nearly all affected workers with back pay. Nor is is mentioned that, on average, federal workers earn 17 percent more than private sector workers of similar education levels. Also not mentioned is the fact that the unemployment rate is at a historically low level — and thus changing careers is easier now than usual. None of this, of course, is emphasized in the many media stories on the topic. Indeed, the usual slant of the articles is that federal workers somehow suffer more greatly than private sector workers. www.activistpost.com/2019/01/imagine-if-the-media-had-as-much-sympathy-for-small-business-owners-as-it-does-for-federal-employees.html
Senator warns Syria could become 'Iraq on steroids' as Trump receives remains Senator Lindsey Graham said on Saturday he hoped Donald Trump would slow the US withdrawal from Syria until Islamic State is destroyed, warning that if not thought through, the pullout can create an “Iraq on steroids”. A bomb attack in Manbij this week, claimed by the militant group, killed two US troops and two civilians working for the US military in northern Syria, along with other civilians. Trump was due to attend the repatriation of the bodies at Dover air base in Delaware. On Twitter, the president wrote that he would “be with the families of 4 very special people who lost their lives in service to our Country!” Graham, from South Carolina, is a friend and ally of the president who regularly claims to have his ear. Speaking in Ankara, he also said he believed the chair of the joint chiefs of staff, Joseph Dunford, was working on a plan with Turkey to move Kurdish fighters away from the Turkish border. Trump announced last month that Isis had been defeated in Syria and he would pull US forces out of the country. The decision injected new uncertainty into the eight-year Syrian war and spurred a flurry of contacts over how a resulting security vacuum will be filled across northern and eastern Syria. The withdrawal of US troops from Iraq by the end of 2011, nine years after the 2003 US-led invasion, left space for the rise of Isis militants, prompting the US to intervene again. The attack in Manbij appeared to be the deadliest on US forces in Syria since they deployed on the ground there in 2015. The town is controlled by a militia allied to US-backed Kurdish forces. It remains unclear when US forces will leave northern Syria, where both Turkey and the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad are ready to fill the vacuum. The YPG militia allied to the fighters holding Manbij last month invited Assad into the area around the town to forestall a potential Turkish assault. The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said last week he had discussed a safe zone with Trump, which Turkey would set up inside Syria along their border. “Here’s the good news,” said Graham. “Gen Dunford, I think, has a plan that he’s working on with the Turkish military that can accomplish these objectives and they are to move the YPG elements away from Turkey.” He also said heavy armaments should be taken from the Kurdish groups. Turkey says the YPG is a terrorist organisation and an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers party (PKK). Graham also said the political arm of the YPG was interlinked and interconnected with the PKK, which has waged a decades-long insurgency on Turkish soil. “A withdrawal that does not outline the points I have made will not end the war against Isis, it will start a new war,” he said. “This war will be a necessity by Turkey, to go into Syria and clear out armed elements that Turkey believes poses a threat to its sovereignty.” A Turkish official told Reuters the US should consider Turkey’s priorities, not those of the YPG. “After [Graham’s] meetings in Turkey, Erdoğan and other officials, we hope the US will understand more the situation,” the official said. www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jan/19/syria-lindsey-graham-iraq-on-steroids-trump
U.S. prosecutors charge several in global sex trafficking ring Jan. 18 (UPI) – Federal prosecutors have charged six people with running an Internet-based sex trafficking ring connected in the United States, Canada and Australia. FBI agents in Oregon joined law enforcement agencies in more than a dozen cities internationally, officials said. The agency took control of websites like Supermatchescorts.com and hundreds of other domains the bureau said were used in the ring. Five people were charged with conspiracy and use of interstate facilities to promote, manage, establish, carry on or facilitate a racketeering enterprise. In a second indictment, another person was charged with similar counts. Prosecutors said in a statement the mastermind recruited women primarily from China to travel to the United States, Canada and Australia to engage in prostitution and other trafficking activities. Customers would use the website as a call center and women were dispatched to "dates" around the world. Authorities said the ring built a database with about 30,000 customers around the world. www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2019/01/18/US-prosecutors-charge-several-in-global-sex-trafficking-ring/4331547832903/
Israel Began Nuclear Weapons Program Without Telling Gov't, Knesset, Memos Show Israel's longstanding policy has been to neither admit nor deny that the country has nuclear weapons. However, estimates by reputable intelligence companies suggest the country has between 80 and 400 nuclear warheads, making it the only nuclear-armed state in the Middle East. Tel Aviv began work on the Dimona nuclear reactor in 1958 without informing members of the government or the country's parliament, Israeli historian and Haaretz contributor Adam Raz revealed, citing a trove of primary documents he reportedly received from a secret source at an academic event. The papers, which include notes, memorandums, drafts and summaries by senior Israeli officials of the time, including Israel Galili, an adviser to prime ministers Levi Eshkol and Golda Meir, Eshkol himself, cabinet member Yigal Allon and IDF commander Moshe Dayan, defence chief-turned prime minister Shimon Peres, and senior diplomat Abba Eban, helped Raz piece together important details about the clandestine project. Moral Qualms and Cost Concerns The papers revealed that Galili had several concerns about the nuclear endeavour, known as "the enterprise," including its potential to undermine Israel's "moral status," or cause then-Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser to attack Israel to try to take out a "justified target." Finally, he feared that the program could incite Cairo to start work on its own nuclear program. The documents also indicated that the cost of the Dimona reactor, estimated at about $53 million by Peres in April 1962, was revised upwards by Alon to "three times" the $60 million discussed by the cabinet in 1964. An undated note, presumably written sometime between 1963 and 1966, indicated that the real cost may have been as much as $340 million (about $2.7 5 billion in present day dollars, accounting for inflation). " If it were known in advance that it would cost $340 million – would we have voted for Dimona?" the note, written by Eban to Galili, reads. Meir Proposes Switching From Defence to Offence The documents showed that after Eshkol succeeded David Ben-Gurion as prime minister in 1963, the new PM's foreign minister, Golda Meir, proposed admitting the existence of the program in a bid to get support from America's Jews. "Our situation will be stronger when the struggle becomes public," she insisted, adding the need to "switch to offence instead of defence." Interestingly, the papers reportedly show that Israeli leaders had to resist pressures to place the project under international supervision, not only from Charles de Gaulle of France, but even from the Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon administrations, who urged Israel to sign on to the non-Proliferation Treaty, which was being developed at the time. In one memo, Peres reportedly told Galili that "in order to overcome the supervision [that the US wanted], cooperation by both sides is needed." sputniknews.com/middleeast/201901191071636884-israeli-nuclear-program-secret-papers/
SNOWDEN KNOWS HIS TIME IS NEAR Snowden: ‘What’s Most Frustrating Is That the Press Paid So Little Attention to Her’ Among those who agree with Winner Davis is National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden, who fled to Russia from the U.S. in 2013 after exposing a number of global surveillance programs run by the NSA and Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance. Asked by Newsweek on Thursday at a conference on whistleblowing in London, U.K., how he feels about Winner's heavy sentence, the NSA whistleblower said what happened to Winner was "condemnable." "It didn't really matter whether there was a risk to public interest," Snowden said. "They threw the book at her. Then they bragged that it was the longest sentence that a civilian had ever received for a disclosure…. And I think that's just condemnable," Snowden said. The whistleblower also hit out at the lack of mainstream news coverage on Winner's disclosure, as well as her subsequent sentencing. "What's most frustrating is that the press paid so little attention her," Snowden said. "They have wall-to-wall coverage about the concerns around Russians. Russians everywhere is the number one issue…" Given the interest around Russian interference in U.S. affairs, "this story should have been the top story and it was only being led by media like The Intercept," Snowden said. The NSA whistleblower said he believed Winner's case did not get the attention other whistleblowers have received because she was simply "too normal" of a person. "She was treated as a sort of lower category of whistleblower, and I think that's because of where she fell on the spectrum of weirdness…. She was actually very normal," Snowden said, calling Winner an "all-American" girl. Regardless of where she fell on that spectrum, Winner, who had been an outspoken critic of Trump on social media in the days leading up to her arrest, calling the U.S. leader an "orange fascist" in one post, was the first person to be charged by the Trump administration under the Espionage Act. Snowden said that while the president's predecessor Barack Obama oversaw his own crackdown on "leakers," Trump "very much wants to break that record. I absolutely don't think the Trump White House is going to do any better," he said. www.newsweek.com/reality-winner-edward-snowden-sentence-whistleblower-russia-donald-trump-1296407
Anon response to a Catholic You claim to be a Catholic but you do not know what Catholicism teaches. The canon of scripture the Catholics accept include the Jewish scriptures. Mary and Jesus were born Jews as were all of the apostles including Peter.. Jesus fulfilled hundreds of old testament (Jewish) prophecies proving his identity as the promised Savior - www.biblicalreliability.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Jesus-Christ-foretold-of-in-Old-Testament-Scripture.pdf The Old Testament (Jewish) scriptures have continuity with the New Testament scriptures. Jesus quoted from them, so did Peter (who you wrongly claim as your first Pope) and those Jewish scriptures spoke of the coming King born of a virgin (Jesus Christ born of Mary - both Jews). That the God of the Jews is the God of the Christians is incontrovertible. I will give you a few examples: Ephesians 2:19-20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone Those prophets were the Jewish prophets who wrote the Old Testament, those apostles were chosen by Jesus from the Jews and Jesus himself was born into the Jewish religion. All through the scriptures, there is a rock, a cornerstone refereed to, who is Christ (not Peter). See also 1 Peter 2:4-8, Psalm 118:22, Matt. 21:42, 44-45, Acts 4:11, Luke 6:47-48. Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone (Psalm 118:22). That is why I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you (Jews) and given to a people who will produce fruit for it (Gentiles). The person who falls over this stone (Christ) will be broken to pieces, but it will crush anyone on whom it falls. The Jews rejected their Messiah, though even Moses had declared him. In fact, Daniel had given the exact time of his arrival, when he would come as the promised seed who would ratify the covenant of faith with Abraham (Daniel 9:24-27). To this day, the Jewish people are kept in ignorance and forbidden to number the 70 weeks of Daniel (which prove who Christ is).
