As I have said before, I don't always agree with articles I post. I do think it's important to know what others around the US and globe are saying. I believe the people who come here are smart enough to use discernment when reading news articles.
I search the news wires from all over, in hopes to find news that gives us a better understanding of the world we live in. Our MSM just spoon feeds us what they want us to know/think.
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to come here and catch up.
If you find news stories that we have missed, feel free to add them to the daily thread with links. I am just one of the contributors of links here, I am not the owner of the site.

Salvini Calls For Elimination Of Italy's Central Bank, Rothschilds in suicide watch! Salvini Calls For Elimination Of Italy's Central Bank, "Prison Time For Fraudsters" >Saturday's latest verbal crackdown targeting of the Bank of Italy comes after central bankers issued more pessimistic economic growth forecasts for this year compared with the numbers underpinning the government’s budget. As we reported last month, Italy entered into a technical recession in the second half of 2018, with the Bank of Italy cutting its GDP forecast for 2019 to 0.6% compared with a 1% forecast made by the government. At the same time, the European Commission slashed Italy's GDP forecast from 1.2% to a borderline recessionary 0.2% for the full year, hinting that Italy's budget deficit forecast will not only be missed, but could re-emerge as a focal point of renewed tensions between Rome and Brussels in the coming months. >Meanwhile, ECB head Mario Draghi, an Italian and former former governor of the Bank of Italy, last year warned that central bank independence was under threat by populist governments, while not making a direct reference to Italy. Should Salvini cement his de facto Italian leadership in upcoming elections, it would make life for the local central bank especially complicated. www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-02-10/salvini-calls-elimination-italys-central-bank-prison-time-fraudsters German City: Only 8 Percent of Migrant School Kids Speak Fluent German A shocking new report claims that only 8.2 percent of children in elementary schools with migrant backgrounds in the German city of Duisburg are able to speak the German language fluently. The revelations come from a report to be presented by Dr Ralf Krumpholz, the city’s Assistant Minister for Integration, and revealed that at least 16.4 percent of migration-background children in the school system speak no German at all, Rheinische Post reports. The report claims that only 8.2 percent of migrant-background children in 2017 could pass exams with flawless German and that 50.1 percent came from households in which another language other than German was spoken. When broken down by districts within the city, particularly in the suburbs, the number of German-speaking migration-background children are shown to be a small minority, with the district of Hochfeld having 87.9 percent of children speaking a different language in their everyday lives. The language barrier has impacted life in the city in several ways, including making it harder for doctors to treat children with parents who speak little or no German. The report comes as the demographic changes in Germany due to mass migration are becoming more and more clear. In Frankfurt, native Germans became a minority in 2017 tt the first German city where migration-background residents outnumber Germans. German-speaking native children are minorities in several schools across the country, including the Carl Anton Henschel School in the city of Kassel where a six-year-old girl named Yara, the only German in her class, spoke of bullying which included physical violence because she was German. Schools in Berlin with majority migration-background pupil populations have reported similar instances of bullying, often for religious reasons — including children bullied for eating pork. “I’m in seventh grade in a high school in Schöneberg. There, I am marginalised because I am German and eat pork. They swear in Turkish and Arabic about me,” one pupil revealed. www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/02/10/german-city-only-8-percent-of-migrant-school-kids-speak-fluent-german/ Inside Trump's next moves with Xi Xi may soon come to Mar-a-Lago. President Trump's advisers have informally discussed holding a summit there next month with Chinese President Xi Jinping to try to end the U.S.-China trade war, according to two administration officials with direct knowledge of the internal discussions. Both officials, who are not authorized to discuss the deliberations, described Trump's club in Palm Beach, Florida, as the "likely" location for the leaders' next meeting, but stressed that nothing is set. The meeting could come as soon as mid-March, these sources said. Show less A third official cautioned that the team has discussed other locations, including Beijing, and that it's premature to say where they'll meet or even whether a meeting is certain to happen. The big picture: Perhaps the darkest cloud of economic uncertainty hanging over the Trump administration is the status of his trade war with China. Global markets are holding their breaths over the fate of hundreds of billions of dollars of trade. Behind the scenes: Trump's upcoming meeting with Kim Jong-un in Vietnam has complicated logistics for the Xi summit. Trump wanted to meet with Xi before his tariff ceasefire with China ends on March 1, but three sources with direct knowledge said the events couldn’t be planned so close together. On March 1, Trump must decide whether to ratchet up tariffs from 10% to 25% on some $200 billion worth of Chinese goods. In early December, Trump told Xi he'd bump up those tariffs unless the Chinese showed "progress" on the big structural issues. (Trump hasn't been clear what would satisfy him here.) The Chinese are loath to see the tariffs go up on March 1. Their influential stateside allies — especially on Wall Street — have long helped them sell Washington on promises of reform that never materialize. The bottom line: It doesn't appear that the U.S. and China have made much progress, so far, on the biggest structural issues that Trump has promised to conquer. These include China's rampant theft of U.S. intellectual property, forced transfer of U.S. technology and trade abuses that China's leaders have used to grow their economy at America’s expense. This week’s Beijing talks with senior officials will focus on enforcement, as the White House China hawks doubt the Chinese will keep any promises. Trump plans to speak to Xi by phone before March 1, according to two administration officials familiar with his thinking. A long-term deal won't come before the two leaders meet. What to watch: Congressional China hawks are pushing Trump to hold the line on China. The Senate Small Business Committee, which Sen. Marco Rubio chairs, will release a report on Tuesday "laying out the challenges with China’s campaign of industrial espionage and coercion," according to a source with direct knowledge. www.axios.com/trump-xi-china-trade-war-mar-a-lago-37bb245b-9ffa-455e-bc82-499c3c32d7e2.html SYRIA UPDATE President Putin calls for more efforts to push political process in Syria forward ” We have to exert more act to continue pushing the political process forwards in Syria and to have diplomatic political settlement for the other crises,” Putin told the Russian diplomats on their annual day according to a statement by Kremlin. www.sana.sy/en/?p=158049 US occupation troops hinder humanitarian aid access, refugees in al-Rukban camp living in miserable conditions Thousands of Syrian refugees due to terrorism in al-Rukban Camp suffer from miserable conditions that could be considered as a humanitarian catastrophe where the US occupation troops in violation of the international law impose control over the surrounding area of the Camp and prevent the delivery of the humanitarian aid to the refugees. What Was Old Is New Again In Gun Control Proposals Fayetteville, AR – -(AmmoLand.com)- Kamala Harris, U.S. senator from California and declared candidate for president in the 2020 race, has come out supporting universal background checks on the sales of firearms. This is unsurprising, given her statements on the subject, and as a district attorney, she participated in an amicus brief to say that the District of Columbia’s de facto ban on handguns was not a violation of the Second Amendment, as well as calling for further restrictions on the types of semiautomatic firearms that residents of her state could own legally. Haven’t we been here before? Gun control suffers from an inability to come up with anything new, since the concept is nothing more than a desire to limit what the law-abiding may do. Harris, as said above, is running for president, and she’s in a crowded field, creating what I assume to be the sense that she needs to stake out a position that appeals to the Democratic base. The party, having taken control of the House of Representatives, is toying with the subject, holding a hearing advertised as the first about gun violence since 2011. The focus was mostly on the experience of gun violence victims, though Matt Gaetz, a Republican representative from Florida, introduced a non sequitur about the supposed threat of immigration and his perception of a wall as a solution. I’m glad to see that Joyce Lee Malcolm, Patrick Henry Professor of Constitutional Law and the Second Amendment at George Mason University School of Law, was invited to testify. Her book, Guns and Violence: The English Experience, should be read by any supporter of gun rights, given its look at the history of gun ownership and carry in England and the subsequent gun controls that curtailed rights without reducing rates of violence. Her testimony covered facts that readers here will be familiar with, namely the spread of shall-issue carry policies to many states, the lack of a duty on the part of the police to protect ordinary Americans, the usefulness of guns in self-defense, and the inability of background checks to stop criminals from obtaining firearms. How much the members of the committee or the people in the audience listened is anyone’s guess, though the partisan divide has created selective hearing across the aisles, making some facts cherished friends while others are treated as abominations. And this is a key challenge that we face over the next two years and into the next presidential term. I expect to see Democratic candidates fall over themselves to present the purest image of a control advocate, and I equally expect that nothing in it will have anything to do with actual safety. The call for universal background checks that Harris tweeted out is an example of feel-good proposals. Criminals get guns from stores that break the law, from people they know on the street, and from stealing, and background checks won’t change that. You, dear readers, already know this. What we need to do is explain things to people who aren’t aware. The tribalism that I referred to above means that many won’t listen, but there are some who can be swayed by the facts—all the facts—and we only need to win over small numbers for now to keep the balance in favor of gun rights. Over time, of course, we need broader support, but that can be the summation of small gains year by year. www.ammoland.com/2019/02/what-was-old-is-new-again-in-gun-control-proposals/#axzz5fAkc0kud
Massive Emperor Trump Float Presides Over Italian Carnival A giant, godlike President Trump float made its debut on the first day of one of Italy’s most famous carnival events this weekend. The Carnevale Di Viargeggio festival in Viareggio, Italy, is attended by about 600,000 people and is famed for its papier-mâché sculptures. The largest of which can be as heavy as 40 tons and often carry a political message. However, to American audience members, one gigantic float stood out: a huge, moving sculpture of President Donald Trump, decked out with wings and golden armor. The parade’s official website said that the float is called “Master-Drone.” In its right hand, the Trump statue carries a sword with a ring of blue Twitter birdies on its hilt. The phrase dazi vostri – which translates to “your taxes” – is inscribed on the blade. Many Italians wrote on Twitter that the expression is actually a play on words with the expression cazzi vostri, which means “none of your f—king business.” The official description of the statue says that the float was created by artist Fabrizio Galli, whose past sculptures included satirical depictions of Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin. It says Master-Drone was a take off of a character from the miniature war game Warhammer 40,000. In the era of Trump, the statement said, fantasy had become reality. “The dominant male par-excellence has arrived, democratically, and is now here, among us. The Master-Drone flies over the Viareggio boardwalk as we prepare to pay the price,” the parade’s description said. Many conservative commentators on Twitter appeared to interpret the float as a tribute to Trump. Several tweeted that it was a “parade for Trump.” Emerald Robinson, the White House Correspondent for right-wing channel One America News, wrote, “This carnival in Italy looks like a lot more fun than the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Just look at this Trump float!” Trump’s image has been a popular image in the parade several times over the past few years. In 2017, a snarling Trump-head was placed in the middle of an American-themed float. A Statue of Liberty stood on top of Trump’s hair, where a giant cowboy and the phrase “Bang Bang” towered over him. A clip of the Green Day song “American Idiot” played in the background. Other floats in the parade this year also have serious social messages. These floats include “High Tide,” depicting a gigantic whale trapped in a pile of trash, and “The Pack,” a commentary on bullying and violence showing a group of hyenas tearing through a book. People in Italy will have several more chances to view the parade. The Carnevale de Viareggio will take place about once a week until Fat Tuesday on March 5. time.com/5526224/trump-float-italy/
THE OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE The FRB is broken down by 12 regional banks that operate within the entire FRB. Here is the statement from the FRB site: The Federal Reserve System is not "owned" by anyone. Although parts of the Federal Reserve System share some characteristics with private-sector entities, the Federal Reserve was established to serve the public interest. The Federal Reserve derives its authority from the Congress, which created the System in 1913 with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act. This central banking "system" has three important features: (1) a central governing board–the Federal Reserve Board of Governors; (2) a decentralized operating structure of 12 Federal Reserve Banks; and (3) a blend of public and private characteristics. The Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., is an agency of the federal government. The Board–appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate–provides general guidance for the Federal Reserve System and oversees the 12 Reserve Banks. www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/about_14986.htm Now this is where reality differs from actuality's from the same site it goes on to say the following: Some observers mistakenly consider the Federal Reserve to be a private entity because the Reserve Banks are organized similarly to private corporations. For instance, each of the 12 Reserve Banks operates within its own particular geographic area, or District, of the United States, and each is separately incorporated and has its own board of directors. Commercial banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System hold stock in their District's Reserve Bank++. However, owning Reserve Bank stock is quite different from owning stock in a private company. The Reserve Banks are not operated for profit, and ownership of a certain amount of stock is, by law, a condition of membership in the System. In fact, the Reserve Banks are required by law to transfer net earnings to the U.S. Treasury, after providing for all necessary expenses of the Reserve Banks, legally required dividend payments, and maintaining a limited balance in a surplus fund. ++these shares are all owned by commercial banks and are NOT liquid. There is no market for them on any exchange. Here is that breakdown: The stockholders in the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks are the privately owned banks that fall under the Federal Reserve System. These include all national banks (chartered by the federal government) and those state-chartered banks that wish to join and meet certain requirements. About 38 percent of the nation’s more than 8,000 banks are members of the system, and thus own the Fed banks. www.factcheck.org/2008/03/federal-reserve-bank-ownership/ “Communist TROJAN HORSE” - Alexandria Ocasio CORTEZ for Bernie SANDERS’ ? Confirmation of Breach in L.A. during Military Operation Here's the pix. Took these a few hrs ago. This is the building the military breached in downtown LA. 1138 Wilshire. Fresh plywood covering the doors and windows documenting that they were forcibly entered. More to follow..
As clock ticks, new hurdle emerges in border security talks WASHINGTON — Bargainers clashed Sunday over whether to limit the number of migrants authorities can detain, tossing a new hurdle before negotiators hoping to strike a border security compromise for Congress to pass this coming week. The White House wouldn't rule out a renewed partial government shutdown if an agreement isn't reached. With the Friday deadline approaching, the two sides remained separated by hundreds of millions of dollars over how much to spend to construct President Donald Trump's promised border wall. But rising to the fore was a related dispute over curbing Customs and Immigration Enforcement, or ICE, the federal agency that Republicans see as an emblem of tough immigration policies and Democrats accuse of often going too far. Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, in appearances on NBC's "Meet the Press" and "Fox News Sunday," said "you absolutely cannot" eliminate the possibility of another shutdown if a deal is not reached over the wall and other border matters. The White House had asked for $5.7 billion, a figure rejected by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, and the mood among bargainers has soured, according to people familiar with the negotiations not authorized to speak publicly about private talks. "You cannot take a shutdown off the table, and you cannot take $5.7 (billion) off the table," Mulvaney told NBC, "but if you end up someplace in the middle, yeah, then what you probably see is the president say, 'Yeah, OK, and I'll go find the money someplace else.'" A congressional deal seemed to stall even after Mulvaney convened a bipartisan group of lawmakers at Camp David, the presidential retreat in northern Maryland. While the two sides seemed close to clinching a deal late last week, significant gaps remain and momentum appears to have slowed. Though congressional Democratic aides asserted that the dispute had caused the talks to break off, it was initially unclear how damaging the rift was. Both sides are eager to resolve the long-running battle and avert a fresh closure of dozens of federal agencies that would begin next weekend if Congress doesn't act by Friday. "I think talks are stalled right now," Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., said Sunday on "Fox News Sunday." ''I'm not confident we're going to get there." Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., who appeared on the same program, agreed: "We are not to the point where we can announce a deal." But Mulvaney did signal that the White House would prefer not to have a repeat of the last shutdown, which stretched more than a month, left more than 800,000 government workers without paychecks, forced a postponement of the State of the Union address and sent Trump's poll numbers tumbling. As support in his own party began to splinter, Trump surrendered after the shutdown hit 35 days without getting money for the wall. This time, Mulvaney signaled that the White House may be willing to take whatever congressional money comes — even if less than Trump's goal — and then supplement that with other government funds. "The president is going to build the wall. That's our attitude at this point," Mulvaney said on Fox. "We'll take as much money as you can give us, and we'll go find the money somewhere else, legally, and build that wall on the southern border, with or without Congress." The president's supporters have suggested that Trump could use executive powers to divert money from the federal budget for wall construction, though it was unclear if he would face challenges in Congress or the courts. One provision of the law lets the Defense Department provide support for counterdrug activities. But declaring a national emergency remained an option, Mulvaney said, even though many in the administration have cooled on the prospect. A number of powerful Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., have also warned against the move, believing it usurps power from Congress and could set a precedent for a future Democratic president to declare an emergency for a liberal political cause. The fight over ICE detentions goes to the core of each party's view on immigration. Republicans favor tough enforcement of immigration laws and have little interest in easing them if Democrats refuse to fund the Mexican border wall. Democrats despise the proposed wall and, in return for border security funds, want to curb what they see as unnecessarily harsh enforcement by ICE. People involved in the talks say Democrats have proposed limiting the number of immigrants here illegally who are caught inside the U.S. — not at the border — that the agency can detain. Republicans say they don't want that cap to apply to immigrants caught committing crimes, but Democrats do. more: www.effinghamdailynews.com/news/as-clock-ticks-new-hurdle-emerges-in-border-security-talks/article_24b27cbc-417e-51f0-9857-67e16f4fee04.html Venezuelan Supreme Court says Guaido’s interim presidency is illegitimate CARACAS – A Venezuelan Supreme Court justice says the constitution does not include language for forming a transitional government as opposition lawmaker Juan Guaido claims.
